Spring on Vrångö – when nature awakens and life moves closer to the sea
Winter has passed, and Easter as well. The storm swept across the island, leaving behind a salt-sprayed landscape – but also something else. A quiet promise of what is now here: spring.
The liverworts have begun to bloom. Cowslips and wood anemones are waiting just beneath the surface, ready to take over. And if you look closely, you can see how the treetops are slowly shifting into green.
Sunlight dances across the sea, the wind carries the scent of salt and seaweed, and along the shoreline oystercatchers, seagulls and wagtails share the treasures the sea has to offer.
Spring is here now. Truly here. And all we want is to pause time for just a moment.
In the absence of knowing how to do that, we choose to celebrate it instead – properly.
From April 24–26, we invite you to a spring celebration at Kajkanten. A weekend dedicated to craftsmanship, flavours and simple, genuine enjoyment.
And as always, we are looking forward to our annual plogging day on May 9 – a day where we come together to care for our island, one step at a time.
