Together, we make it better

Together, we work for a sustainable destination

Kajkanten is a small hotel operation, and like all businesses in the archipelago, we rely heavily on one another and value collaboration. We’re also part of larger partnership networks that help us offer a more sustainable travel destination. This collaborative approach is at the heart of everything we do. Together, we make it better.

The Swedish Tourist Association

We are proud members of the Swedish Tourist Association and are committed to promoting more sustainable tourism. When we welcome guests to Kajkanten, we also offer a unique nature experience and the opportunity to enjoy outdoor life.

West Sweden Tourist Board

We are part of West Sweden, and through the channels of the West Sweden Tourist Board, information about us and Vrångö is shared. We also regularly take part in the board’s training programs, focusing on areas such as destination development, digitalization, and sustainability.

Göteborg & Co

The Gothenburg archipelago is part of the City of Gothenburg, and through Göteborg & Co’s channels and activities, we have the opportunity to showcase Vrångö and Kajkanten. We also take part in trainings and projects organized by Göteborg & Co to help us grow as an even more sustainable and well-developed destination.

Plogga

Plogging is a grassroots movement growing worldwide—a concept that combines picking up litter while jogging. At its core, plogging is about changing attitudes and encouraging everyone to become proud litter pickers. We are a plogging-certified company.

Green Key

Kajkanten is a Green Key certified hotel. We actively work with environmental and sustainability issues by following Green Key’s comprehensive criteria. By staying with us, you as a guest also contribute to taking responsibility for the environment without compromising your experience.

The West Coast Foundation

Beach clean-ups along the West Coast are coordinated by the West Coast Foundation and carried out by municipal staff, contracted contractors, several nonprofit organizations, and, not least, volunteers. We are very grateful for the West Coast Foundation’s commitment to Vrångö.

Karolina Martinson

Karolina has a passionate commitment to creating a Swedish food culture where seaweed holds a natural place on our plates. She describes herself as a seaweed diver, sustainability advocate, and ambassador for the future’s new sustainable Blue industries. We are very grateful for our collaboration with Karolina.

West Coast Sea Week

During West Coast Sea Week, you can try kayaking with us at half price—one of many ocean-related activities along the West Coast. Through West Coast Sea Week, we aim to raise awareness about our marine environment and the challenges facing the West Sea.

Hamnkrogen Lotsen

Thanks to our neighboring restaurant, Hamnkrogen Lotsen, we are able to offer orders of seafood, dinners, and breakfast baskets every day, year-round, to our guests. This valuable collaboration is one of the cornerstones of our operation..

Restaurant Ternan

It is a great privilege for Kajkanten to be able to arrange meals for parties and conferences in the beautiful premises of Ternan by the ferry terminal. Having restaurants on Vrångö is essential for Kajkanten’s operations.
