Window 4 - Dec 4

Whatever Håkan had expected to see in there, it wasn’t this. There was nothing in the wardrobe. Or, wait. What was this? Håkan bent down and on the floor he saw that it glittered. “Glitter??” he muttered aloud to himself. “Who has been playing with my glitter here?? I’m really careful with that!” He looked up at his craft corner, but everything was there exactly as he had left it. His big box of different glitter colors was at the top of the shelf, out of reach of greedy friends who just wanted to take and take and take and never thought that he could actually RUN OUT of glitter.

Håkan sighed. He didn’t get this sorted. Best that he seized the day. After all, it was the first of December and at the Kajkanten hotel where Håkan worked, all the rooms were to be decorated for Christmas today! The colleagues were probably already waiting for him, and Håkan knew that they always saved the funnest for him – getting to put the star on the tree that stood outside and welcomed the guests. When Håkan thought about this, his whole body felt warm again. He got up from the floor and went into the bathroom to brush his teeth. He turned the hourglass he had received from his dentist, when she patiently explained to him that if he wanted to avoid being greeted by Karius and Baktius, he did his best to brush twice a day, two minutes each time. Håkan thought it was soooo boring to brush his teeth, but he was also a little afraid of the dentist and her drill, so he did as she said anyway. And if he came to the dentist without any holes, he always got a nice sticker as a reward!

Finally at ease, Håkan jumped into his overalls and pulled the striped scarf around his neck. With small leaping steps, he then made his way down towards Kajkanten and the waiting colleagues.

If you had been quick now, you would have had time to see that a door was opened ajar on the Quay. A small figure quickly slipped in and before you knew it, the door was closed again and everything looked as usual. Only a trail of gingerbread crumbs revealed that someone had been nearby.
