Kajkanten is a family-friendly workplace in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg, a smaller apartment hotel where everyone knows each other in the team. We all care about making sure our guests’ experience is the focus. Cleaning and ensuring that our beautiful seaside apartments are tidy and fresh for check-in is an important part of your workday. You will also take care of the sauna, hot tub, and rent out kayaks. In between, you’ll be the face of Kajkanten, answering questions and helping guests with tasks like directions, as well as keeping track of timetables and luggage handling. Working hours are spread across both weekdays and weekends, with on-call shifts during some evenings and weekends. Workdays vary from 2 to 6 hours
We are looking for someone who is quick, cheerful, and helpful – in other words, a person with the right heart and energy. You who apply for this job enjoy meeting people, recognize their needs, and are driven by a desire to make others happy and satisfied. You are good at teamwork, attentive, and able to take initiative within set guidelines. It’s a plus if you have worked in a similar role before, but industry experience is not required – the most important thing is your attitude. We want those who work at Kajkanten to feel good and take pride in being part of our company.
Kajkanten has eleven cabin apartments that we rent out on a daily or weekly basis. In addition, we organize conferences, guided tours, and rentals of kayaks and sauna rafts. Guests primarily come from Sweden, but travelers from all over the world find their way to us. Kajkanten was once again awarded the 2024 Travellers Choice on Tripadvisor, a recognition based on our commitment to providing the highest level of service. We care deeply about the future and sustainable tourism, which is why we take special care of our stunning nature. We are very proud to be certified with the Green Key environmental label, and all Kajkanten staff actively contribute to advancing our environmental efforts to even higher levels.
To reach car-free Vrångö, take the ferry from Saltholmen, which is accessible by tram 11 or bus 114. The journey takes at least 30 minutes by ferry. Västtrafik’s ferries
to Vrångö. You can use the same ticket for the archipelago boat as you use for trams and buses in Gothenburg. Once you disembark on Vrångö, it takes about a 10-minute walk to Kajkanten. It’s an advantage if you’re staying on Vrångö, Donsö, or Styrsö.
