Join a seaweed walk along the shores of Vrångö together with Karolina Martinson.
An inspiring walk that takes you out across the cliffs and beaches of the Vrångö Archipelago Nature Reserve. On Vrångö’s Hiking Day, you’re invited to a different kind of walk — a unique opportunity to learn more about the edible treasures along the shoreline and what lies beneath the surface of the sea.
Karolina will show you how to harvest seaweed sustainably, without disturbing the ecosystems, and give you tips on how to use seaweed and wild herbs in your own cooking. A simple seaweed-inspired fika with small tastings is included.
Location: Vrångö, in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg
Time: Saturday, September 13th, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Price: Adults: 500 SEK
Children (ages 7–15): 250 SEK
If you’re not already on Vrångö, take ferry no. 281 from Saltholmen to Vrångö. Check the Västtrafik journey planner for the most suitable departure.

HIKING DAY – September 13, 2025
Hikeing Day is a national initiative started in 2019 by the Swedish Tourist Association. Hiking is one of the most accessible, healthy, and rewarding activities you can do! With Hike Day, we want to inspire you to explore your local surroundings and treat yourself to a refreshing moment outdoors. It’s a celebration of something we truly love – stepping out onto the trail.
Join a seaweed walk along the shores of Vrångö with professional seaweed diver and food creator Karolina Martinson – or set out to explore Tistlarna, the remote lighthouse outpost far out in the archipelago, south of Vrångö.
