Join Our Team This Summer

We are now looking for you who would like to work at Kajkanten Vrångö this summer.

Kajkanten is a friendly, family-run workplace in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg – a small apartment hotel where everyone on the team knows each other. We all care deeply about making sure our guests’ experience is always the top priority. Cleaning and making sure our beautiful boathouse apartments are fresh and ready for check-in is an important part of your workday. You will also be responsible for the sauna and hot tub, as well as renting out kayaks.

In between these tasks, you will be the face of Kajkanten – answering questions and helping guests with practical matters such as directions, ferry timetables, and luggage handling. Working hours include weekdays and weekends, and on-call duty during some evenings and weekends is required. Workdays vary between 2 and 6 hours.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is energetic, cheerful, and helpful – a person with their heart and energy in the right place. You enjoy meeting people, are attentive to their needs, and are driven by a desire to make others happy and satisfied. You work well in a team, are responsive, and able to take initiative within given guidelines.

Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required – your attitude is what matters most. We want everyone working at Kajkanten to feel good and proud to be part of our company.

A bit more about us

Kajkanten has eleven waterfront boathouse apartments, available for short- or long-term stays. We also host small conferences, guided tours, and rent out kayaks and our floating sauna. Most of our guests come from Sweden, but we also welcome international travelers. Kajkanten is highly rated on Tripadvisor, thanks to our focus on personal service and guest satisfaction.

We’re also committed to sustainable tourism and caring for the beautiful nature that surrounds us. We’re proud to be Green Key certified, and everyone on the team takes part in helping us improve our environmental efforts even more.

Getting to Vrångö

Car-free Vrångö is reached by ferry from Saltholmen, which you can get to by tram 11 or bus 114. The journey with Västtrafik’s archipelago ferry takes at least 30 minutes. The same ticket is valid for trams, buses, and the archipelago ferry in Gothenburg.

Once you arrive on Vrångö, it is about a 10-minute walk to Kajkanten. It is an advantage if you have accommodation on Vrångö, Donsö, or Styrsö.
