Kajkanten works actively with sustainability issues
Kajkanten is a hotel that is eco-labelled with the Green Key. Here, we work actively with environmental and sustainability issues, including following Green Key’s extensive criteria. Through this, you as a guest also contribute to taking responsibility for the environment without compromising your experience with us.
OUR COMMITMENTS
• We use 100% renewable electricity, energy-saving lighting and have routines for reduced energy consumption.
• We have taken initiatives to reduce water consumption.
• We sort and recycle our waste and the waste of our guests.
• We use eco-labelled washing and cleaning products
• We heat our hotel with geothermal energy.
• We use public transportation, cycle, walk and only drive an electric car when we transport necessities.
• We work towards reduced food waste.
• We measure our greenhouse gas emissions annually in order to reduce our climate impact.
DO YOU WANT TO HELP US?
When you are our guest, you are welcome to help us reduce our environmental impact.
• Leave recyclable packaging and deposit in the recykling station outside the reception. If you have waste for which there are no containers, leave it on the table when you check out and we will sort it for you.
• Turn off lights, switch off electronics and unplug chargers when not in use.
• If you can not bear to eat all of your food, feel free to bring it home!
• Help us keep Vrångö free from plastic and litter. Feel free to use a bag from our PLOGGIS that you can find outside the reception and make litter picking a fun activity.
• Help us get better. We welcome any tips and new ideas you might have for our environmental work.
