We are a Plogga certified company

Plogga on Vrångö and all over the world

Plogga is a popular movement that is growing all over the world, a concept that involves picking up trash while jogging. Basically plowing is a collective name where the intention is to change the approach and “get everyone to be proud litter pickers”. Kajkanten is Sweden’s first hotel to be Plogga-certified. Here we walk, run and cycle to find plastic, rubbish and other things that don’t belong in nature. We also offer you as a guest to plogga. This can be a wonderfully fun way to give something back to the place and nature you visit.

Here are examples of how we do plogging on Vrångö:

– Outside Kajkanten there is a PLOGGIS, all guests and passers-by can take a bag, any time, ant day, and PLOGGA.

– We offer all guests who visit us September – May to book accommodation with the PLOGGA offer. We inform about where you can PLOGGA on Vrångö and provide our guests with a PLOGGA bag. Kajkanten sponsors your effort with a discount on accommodation.

– Two days a year all volunteers, islanders, guests and visitors gather for a PLOGGA DAY. An initiative where we collaborate with, among others, the Västkuststiftelsen to inspire beach cleaning.

– We also aim to, together with the City of Gothenburg, the Traffic Office and Plogga’s management, continue to train young summer workers to become ploggers. Through these PLOGGA activities, we want to work with PLOGGA MIND and create a new mindset around health & environment with new habits and a new approach.
