When December arrives, the archipelago houses glow with Christmas lights, the piers are dusted with the season’s first snow, and the island takes on a calm that only midwinter can bring. The air is crisp, the days are short, and the evenings are spent enjoying Christmas cheer in all its forms.
Advent and Christmas on Vrångö are shaped by living archipelago traditions. At Fiskeboa, the line winds long as the fishmonger sells freshly pickled herring over the counter, Christmas trees are carried into homes, and when the archipelago boat approaches the harbour, it lights up the December darkness with its festive lights—visible far out at sea.
During December, we invite you to Christmas in Vrångö-style with a wood-fired sauna on the Sauna raft and winter swims for those who dare. On selected weekends, the harbour restaurant Lotsen serves a homemade Christmas buffet, and whenever you come, you can order Lotsen’s Christmas Box to enjoy in your own seaside cabin, filled with local flavors from both land and sea. A relaxed and atmospheric experience to share together.
For families, we offer our Family Christmas Holiday, with a warm hot tub to brave the cold and magical archipelago winter surroundings.
The year concludes with our New Year’s Package, for those who want to welcome the midnight hour at the very edge of the archipelago. Enjoy seafood and lobster for the evening, the winter darkness all around, and toast the New Year your own way.

New Year's package
Celebrate New Year’s at the edge of the sea with seafood and lobster. At midnight, toast in your own personal way—bring friends or just your best friend and enjoy the moment in a cosy boathouse apartment.
Christmas holiday
Christmas holidays on Vrångö can be booked with any arrival day 20 Dec – 10 Jan (not New Year's weekend), the package includes two nights in a boathouse including a breakfast basket for both days and a pass on the relaxation raft with sauna, hot tub and winter swimming for those who dare.
Cold Dip package
This is the package for those who want to enjoy the very best of winter – a crackling fireplace, warm sauna, steaming hot tub, and Vrångö’s finest seafood, shared with the people you love most.
The Vrångö Package
The Vrångö Package is perfect for those who want to experience Vrångö for a night or two, enjoy fresh seafood while relaxing in Kajkanten’s boathouse. The Fisherman’s seafood box and breakfast basket are delivered straight to your cabin from Hamnkrogen Lotsen.
Hiking Package
Vrångö offers scenic hiking trails, always close to the sea, set within a magical archipelago landscape. A two-day package for those who want to explore December in the archipelago.
Sauna Raft
