All Year Round

Each month offers different experiences with package deals and events.

On Vrångö, in the southern Gothenburg archipelago, we follow the rhythm of the seasons and care deeply for both the place and the people who live here. Each part of the year offers its own atmosphere, colours, and experiences – all shaped by nature and local island life. On this page, we present the year’s events and curated stay packages – from winter sea bathing and quiet retreat days to the first spring light of the Swedish archipelago, summer days filled with swimming and life by the pier, and the gentle winds of autumn.

Whenever you choose to visit, there is always something happening on the island. You may wish to join one of our events and stay for a few days, letting the activities become a natural part of your island stay. We update the calendar continuously, month by month – thoughtfully and in harmony with the seasons. Let the season guide your experience.

January

January on Vrångö is a time of stillness, soft pastel tones, and some of the archipelago’s most beautiful winter light. The landscape is open and stripped back, inviting rest, nature experiences, and calm days close to the sea.

February

February is all about rugged beauty, rich flavours, and nature-based experiences in the winter landscape of the archipelago. Bring the family for a winter holiday, enjoy warming sauna sessions with cold sea bathing, and treat yourself to an evening with the fisherman’s seafood box.

Mars

In March, the first outdoor coffee breaks of the year invite you outside, along with coastal walks in the spring sunshine and warming sauna sessions. The sea is our pantry – offering the flavours of seaweed, the saltiness of shellfish, and inspiring experiences that restore your energy.

April

Welcome spring and recharge your energy. Celebrate Easter with a bonfire and a boat trip to Tistlarna. Explore Vrångö on foot, take refreshing spring dips, and enjoy warming sauna sessions. From 24–26 April, we celebrate Spring Festival on Vrångö – a true taste of Bohuslän.

May

The early summer light brings Vrångö to life with boating, swimming, hikes, the first kayaking of the season, and warm evenings by the sea. On 9 May we host this year’s Plogging Day, with a seaweed event later in the month, and moments that make summer truly begin.

June

June on Vrångö is early summer bliss, with blooming gardens, warmer seas, and long, bright evenings. A month full of the much-anticipated energy of light, boating, and Midsummer celebrations at their most beautiful.

July

July brings sun-warmed days on the beach. It’s the perfect time for kayaking adventures, crab fishing for the kids, relaxing by the shore with swimming and picnics, and enjoying open restaurants for ice cream, coffee, and refreshing drinks. In July, the guest harbor is full of boaters and holidaymakers – pier life at its best.

August

August on Vrångö is late summer, with warm swims, gentle kayak trips, and nature slowly changing color. There’s time for crayfish parties on the pier, long conversations, and lingering evenings. A month to gather friends and let summer fade away at its own pace.

September

September offers a gentle transition from summer to autumn. Often, the warmth lingers, with sunshine that still feels summery and a sea inviting for kayaking and swimming. The air grows clearer, the days slightly shorter, and the pace a little slower.

October

In October, the groves turn golden, and the air is clear and crisp. The sea changes its character – sometimes calm and mirror-like, sometimes powerful and stormy. This is also lobster season. Join our local Vrångö fisherman, Mattias, for a trip out to sea!

November

November on Vrångö invites calm, relaxation, and the quiet magic of the archipelago. With yoga, cold sea dips, sauna sessions, and warming experiences by the water, it’s a month for deep breaths. A time to slow down and let nature take care of you.

December

As December arrives, the archipelago’s houses glow with Christmas lights, the piers are dusted with the season’s first snow, and the island takes on the magical atmosphere only midwinter can bring. Come and enjoy cozy Christmas moments, Vrångö style!
