For a moment nothing was heard, except the crash of something crunchy breaking, and someone chewing. H\u00e5kan was convinced that his last moment had come. Then a loud “pop” was heard and then a thud as something landed on H\u00e5kan’s quilt. He slowly opened his eyes, one at a time. Then he gave a yelp of surprise. On his blanket, sitting on his back and nibbling gingerbread, sat a tiny pig. The pig tilted its head and looked at H\u00e5kan with small, squinty buttonhole eyes. On his head the pig had a small green top hat. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cHere we are!\u201d said the pig in a high-pitched voice, adjusting his hat. \u201cHey, you\u2026 I mean, H\u00e5kan! Yes, it\u2019s you we\u2019re talking about, isn\u2019t it? We\u2019ve talked about this, haven\u2019t we? And now we\u2019re here! Right now! This is no time to lose track of things! We have a mission to solve, and Christmas is here. Or\u2026 well, it\u2019s not here yet, but we can fix that! Because we\u2019re good at that! Really good at that!\u201d
The pig grinned at H\u00e5kan as if he\u2019d just explained the greatest mystery of life. H\u00e5kan, however, didn\u2019t look any wiser\u2014perhaps just a little less scared. It was impossible for this little joker to frighten anyone. Then H\u00e5kan thought about the gingerbread crumbs, the glitter, and his missing slippers. His mood shifted suddenly, and he glared at the pig, pointing an accusing finger:
\u201cYou! It was YOU! Who dirtied my floor with gingerbread crumbs and stole my glitter! AND MY FAVORITE SLIPPERS!!\u201d
The pig looked at H\u00e5kan as though he had just lost his best friend. \u201cBut we don\u2019t think you understand? We\u2019ve been waiting all year for this! Christmas is magical, don\u2019t you see? It\u2019s not just any ordinary holiday! And we\u2019re the ones who make sure there\u2019s snow! And that everyone gets their Christmas presents and that there\u2019s Christmas cheese!\u201d
The pig paused, waving his little hooves as if he had completely run out of patience. \u201cAnd you mustn\u2019t forget that we\u2019re the only ones who can keep track of the glitter! Glitter is the best thing ever! Don\u2019t you see? Glitter is magic!<\/em><\/p>\n

H\u00e5kan pinched his arm to make sure he wasn\u2019t dreaming. Just a few hours ago, when he had gone to bed, he had been on the verge of losing faith in Christmas and its magic. And now, here was this peculiar little pig sitting on his blanket, talking about glitter as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Suddenly, a wave of determination swept over him. Even though he didn\u2019t fully understand how, he knew one thing for certain: if there was any way he could help this pig bring the magic of Christmas back to Vr\u00e5ng\u00f6, he would do it.
Feeling lighter at heart, he leaned back, rested his head, and drifted off to sleep again. For the first time in ages, life felt simple and joyful.
H\u00e5kan didn\u2019t see it, but beneath the blanket, the small snow globe glimmered softly. The tiny Santa\u2019s hat regained a hint of its former sparkle. <\/em><\/p>\n
