H\u00e5kan approached the slippers, still skeptical. He glanced at them suspiciously. There was nothing to say that they hadn’t just fallen down on their own, or that he had forgotten where he had put them the night before. There was certainly a natural explanation. But as he bent down to pick them up and put them in their proper place, he noticed something very strange. Besides the fact that the slippers were DEFINITELY not where he left them the night before, there was something scattered around. Something that looked like\u2026. Gingerbread crumbs? <\/em><\/p>\n

H\u00e5kan didn’t know what to think. It was as if the gingerbread crumbs and the slippers formed a secret trail, a path he could not see. When H\u00e5kan looked up, he saw that the trail led to the snow globe he had been given by his grandmother when he was small. In the round glass globe stood a chubby Santa, waving merrily towards a small white house, where a disheveled child poked its head out the door. If you shook it, snowflakes fell all over the globe, and no one was as good at shaking it as H\u00e5kan. He was actually the best at shaking. Sometimes he could sit for hours in front of the globe, practicing shaking it just right, so that the snowflakes fell exactly as long as he wanted, landing in drifts on the front porch of the small house. If he was caught doing this, he always adamantly claimed that he was just polishing the snow globe. But sometimes, when he did this, he could swear that new details were being added to the small world\u2026 but when he checked a second time, everything was always as usual. But today was nothing like usual. When H\u00e5kan picked up the globe in his hand, he saw that Santa’s hat, which had always been so red and beatuiful, seemed paler. Almost a little pink. <\/em><\/p>\n

This was too much for H\u00e5kan. The slippers, gingerbread crumbs, a pink Santa hat. With a thud he sat down on the floor. What would this mean, was he going crazy with Christmas stress? “For the love of all the striped polka pigs,” he thought dully. Then he heard a noise from the closet. It sounded like someone was\u2026 blundering on something? Quick as an eye and with the electric whisk extended in front of him like a creamy sword, H\u00e5kan pawed closer. He grabbed the closet door and yanked it open, while pointing menacingly at whoever was in there with the creamy electric whisk and yelling \u201cHa! Got you, you slipper thief!\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

At the same time, in H\u00e5kan’s attic, if you were paying attention, you could hear a cheerful pattering across the floor. A ladder was erected and a skylight opened. All that was left was a trail of gingerbread and glitter. <\/em><\/p>\n

Yes, poor H\u00e5kan, he is struggling! But of course it’s easy to get lost in all the Christmas stress. On beautiful Vr\u00e5ng\u00f6 there is otherwise a calmness that usually rubs off, even on the most excited souls.
