This car-free island is the place for those looking for a genuine archipelago experience at a close distance from Gothenburg. You can travel to Vr\u00e5ng\u00f6 easily with Styrs\u00f6bolaget&#8217;s comfortable ferries from Saltholmen, and after just half an hour you reach the quay at Vr\u00e5ng\u00f6.  <\/p>\n<p>Hotel Kajkanten opened its doors to its first guests in 2014 and has since made it possible for visitors to experience a multi-day stay on Vr\u00e5ng\u00f6, all year round. H\u00e5kan Karlsten, owner and operations manager of the facility, has family on the island dating back to the 16th century. In the family tree there are both fishermen and pilots, but today it is mainly the hospitality industry that provides new job opportunities. H\u00e5kan runs the apartment hotel together with his family in Vr\u00e5ng\u00f6. People live and work here as neighbors and colleagues in different generations.
